Start physical therapy without a doctor's referral.
New Jersey lets you see a physical therapist directly. Pick what's bothering you, choose a time, and book your first evaluation in under a minute.
What's bothering you?
Some insurance plans and Medicare still ask for a doctor's note. We check yours before your first visit.
What we treat
Care for the pain that's slowing you down
Your first visit starts with an evaluation: we look at how you move, find what's driving the problem, and build a plan with you.

New-patient evaluations usually within 48 hours.
Your first visit
What happens after you book
No phone tag and no clipboard. Most of it happens before you walk in, so your visit is about you, not paperwork.
You get a text
Your day and time, the address, and a short intake form to fill in on your phone before you come.
We check your insurance
The front desk looks up your benefits before your visit and calls you if your plan needs a doctor's note or there's a cost you should know about.
Your first evaluation
60 minutes, one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist: we talk through what's going on, look at how you move, and agree on a plan with you.

Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in New Jersey?
No. Since 2003, New Jersey law has let you see a licensed physical therapist directly, without a doctor's referral or prescription. Two rules come with it: within 30 days of your first treatment, your physical therapist checks in with your doctor about your care (or suggests you see one if you don't have a doctor), and if you haven't made reasonable progress within 30 days, they refer you to a doctor. Your insurance may still ask for a referral, so we check before your first visit.
Will my insurance pay without a referral?
It depends on your plan. The law doesn't require a referral, but some insurance plans ask for one, and Medicare asks a doctor to sign off on your treatment plan. We check your benefits before your first visit and tell you what yours needs. The plans we're in network with are listed here.
What if I was hurt in a car accident?
Then you'll need a referral. When New Jersey auto insurance is paying for your care, physical therapy is only covered with a referral from a physician, dentist, podiatrist or chiropractor. Bring it to your first visit, or tell us when you book and we'll explain the next step.
What happens at the first visit?
About 60 minutes, one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist. We talk through what's going on and what you want to get back to, look at how you move, and agree on a plan with you. If something needs a doctor first, we tell you and help you find the right one.
What should I bring and wear?
Your insurance card and a photo ID, a list of the medicines you take, and any notes or scans from your doctor if you have them. Wear clothes you can move in, like shorts or loose pants, so we can see the area that's bothering you.
How much does it cost without insurance?
